MovieMax video was founded in 1985 in Michigan as one of the first video superstores of its kind.

MovieMax was sold to Blockbuster in 1988 and Waad Nadhir took over as Development Officer for Blockbuster in the Midwest US.  In 1990, Waad was granted the NYC franchise territory for Blockbuster and remained there until the company was sold to Viacom in 1992.
